Three Elements Of Successful Business Owners

I consider myself a studier of people. On one side, I get to work with entrepreneurs & business owners and see inside their businesses. I gain insight into why some are streaming ahead growing in size and revenue, while others are wondering whether it’s time to pack it all in and get a job.
And on the other side, I study ideal customers. I study what makes them tick, what their pain points and goals may be. I am constantly coming up with new ways to attract them with paid ads through offers, ad copy and creative. The underlying aim always being to turn clicks into customers faster.
So back to those successful business owners, who have people taking their wallets out all the time. What’s comes before that that makes them someone you admire?
They invest
It’s really hard to run and create a business without spending any money. Anyone who wants to grow their businesses understand that for every dollar they spend, whether it’s in programs, coaching or paid ads will see a return. In fact, many of them share the belief that they’ll get a 10x return for every dollar they invest. They also realise that it may not always be a monetary return but paid back in the form of relationships, visibility or even just guidance as to which direction to take.
They learn
Geez it’s tough running a business these days! Not only do you have to be good at the thing you do – whether it’s as a driving instructor, naturopath, maker of doggy treats… but you also have to sell it too! What a pain!
However, all successful entrepreneurs know that they don’t know what they don’t know. They know that there’s infinite ways to market their business and rather than be complacent and think it’s all a bit hard they learn new ways of doing things. They invest, whether it’s time or money, to learn. For example, I learn so much from podcasts and they don’t cost me anything but my time.
They surround themselves with inspiring people
Long days working by yourself can make anyone go crazy! That’s why no one who you admire online… does it on their own. They are part of online communities, do collaborations and coaching. It’s easy to think that you’re the only one with problems if you’re not talking to others who are in the same situation. All the ‘big names’ out there in your industry have their own tribes and communities that they are inspired by.
So ask yourself…
When was the last time you invested in yourself?
What would you like to learn? It doesn’t always have to be business related, some of my best educational investments have been on styling, dance and yoga retreats (learning how to meditate is one of the best investments you can ever make!)
Who inspires you? How can you spend more time with them?
