Running A Business Is Risky Business

Running ads can be risky. You’re spending money that you may not see an immediate return on.
Posting online can be risky. You might put a few noses out of joint by having an opinion.
But you know what else is risky? Not taking these risks.
Continuing to toe the line and post the same old ‘fri-yay’ posts. It can also be risky not running some kind of paid advertising because you then believe (rightly or wrongly!) that no one wants to buy your stuff. You’ve probably heard that saying ‘you have to spend money to make money’ well unfortunately it is true (even if you think it’s just made up by advertisers and people who want to sell you something.)
In new news for me, I’m writing a book! I’ve signed up with Emma Franklin Bell’s 21 Day Manuscript Mastery Course. It’s a wild ride, where 3 nights a week for 3 weeks we get together and write a book. My working title is Like, Know, Trust, Buy – How to sell yourself online without selling out.
Or maybe I could call it ‘No One Wants to Buy Your Stuff’ 🤣 Which one do you think is better?
Feels pretty risky to put my money where my mouth is and make a commitment to a book idea I’ve had for about 4 years. Also feels risky to spend this dedicated time to write the thing.
If you’re struggling with taking a risk with your business right now, I’d love to hear from you. You never know, your question just may get answered in my book!
